iSLI’s MSc in System Level Integration
(in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University, University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde)
iSLI extends a warm welcome to both UK and international students and is delighted to have the opportunity of providing first class higher education in a serious but friendly atmosphere, where students learn from teachers of the highest calibre together with fellow students from all over the world.
If you are a recent graduate in electronic engineering, computer science, physics or other relevant disciplines and wish to pursue an industry related postgraduate qualification in electronics, or you have been working in the commercial world and want to upgrade your skills, then look no further than iSLI’s MSc in System Level Integration.
Available full-time, part-time and via distance learning this unique course, the first of its kind aimed specifically at both hardware and software domains, provides students with the opportunity to study using the latest industry tools and technology techniques. As a collaboration of four of the UK’s leading universities, students have at their disposal the resources of all four universities (Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt, Glasgow and Strathclyde).
The modules both compulsory and optional contained within the MSc programme concentrate on understanding the process of System on Chip design, the use of IP blocks and the architecture of modern electronic systems. It provides students with an opportunity to acquire advanced skills in hardware engineering, embedded software and systems architecture, skills highly sought after by industry. Each student as part of their studies carries out an industrially-related research project under the supervision of iSLI academic staff allowing students to gain real research experience and a valuable insight into developing commercial projects.
Students graduate jointly from iSLI’s four partner universities possessing a strong combination of technical and business skills vital for jobs in today’s electronics design community. On successful completion of the MSc, students have been employed by organisations such as Agilent Technologies, Atmel, Epson, Intel, Philips and Texas Instruments while others have chosen to continue their studies, undertaking a PhD.
To apply for the MSc applicants must hold, or expect to obtain, a good honours degree (2:2 or better), or experience which is acceptable as equivalent, in computer science, electronic engineering or physics.
Scholarships and funding are available for UK Students, Non-UK EU Students and International Students. Students interested in applying for a scholarship should submit an MSc Application Form available from iSLI’s website at www.sli-institute.ac.uk.
