Did you know that every year many foreigners come to the Netherlands to study? Many universities in the Netherlands offer programmes in English, so it is not necessary to learn Dutch. NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences is a renowned institute that was one of the first to offer English-taught programmes. NHTV, which was founded 40 years ago, offers Bachelor and Master programmes in the field of in the fields of Digital Entertainment, Hospitality, Leisure, Mobility and Tourism.

NHTV has a modern approach on studying: students do not study theory individually but work on practical assignments in groups, so-called “problem-based learning”. The university also has training companies in which students can put theory into practice. Moreover, all students do an internship for 1 semester at least. Currently, NHTV has approx. 6,500 students from over 50 countries, who join each other in mixed classes. This means you will not only learn about the Dutch culture, but also about the cultures of your classmates!
The city of Breda
NHTV is located in the city of Breda, in the south of the Netherlands. Breda has approx. 170,000 inhabitants, 13,500 of which are students! Breda is only 100 km from both Amsterdam and Brussels and with the new speed train it takes you only 4 hours to get to Paris. In terms of culture and sport, Breda has a lot to offer and there are many students organisations - it is a great place to study! Moreover, life in Breda is cheaper than in big cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Internationally accepted diploma’s
You can obtain a Bachelor degree at NHTV in 4 years or a Master degree in 1 year. These diploma’s are all accredited and internationally accepted. Depending on your previous education, you may be admitted to a fast-track and obtain a Bachelor degree in 3 years.

Costs
The tuition fee for a Bachelor programmes depends on your nationality:
- Non-EEA students pay 7,000 Euros per year.
- Dutch and other EEA-Students pay 1,500 Euros per year. (EEA = European Economic Area and consists of the EU + Norway + Lichtenstein + Iceland) Moreover, EEA-students can ask the Dutch Ministry of Education for a loan.
A Master programme costs approx. 7,000 Euros for 1 year – regardless of nationality. Ask our International Office for information on scholarships.
